HOLOSTARS VTubers Cover Green Leaves' "YATTA!"

To celebrate April Fools' Day, members of the male VTuber group HOLOSTARS unveiled a cover of the parody song YATTA! by fictional boy group Green Leaves (Happatai).

The members featured in the cover all took part in a collaboration stream between the Japanese group HOLOSTARS and its English-speaking branch HOLOSTARS English -TEMPUS- in September 2022. Members representing the two branches faced off against one another in the video game "Left 4 Dead 2", wagering that the losing team would post photos of their underwear on Twitter as a batsu game.

While the Japanese team won, after the four members of TEMPUS completed the batsu, they decided to share their underwear as well in solidarity with their juniors. This became known as the "TEMPANTSU" incident.

For April Fools' Day this year, TEMPUS created joke characters and performed short 30-minute "debut streams" for them back-to-back, pretending they had been brought on as a new generation of members for TEMPUS called ANIMALIA FAMILIA. At the end of these streams, they premiered the cover of YATTA!, with TEMPUS member Axel Syrios explaining some of the emotions that went into the cover and the circumstances leading up to it in a separate stream afterwards.

The cover features the four original members of TEMPUS: Regis Altare, Magni Dezmond, Axel Syrios and Noir Vesper. Representing the Japanese branch of HOLOSTARS are Astel Leda, Kageyama Shien, Hizaki Gamma and Minase Rio.

The four April Fools' Day streams from TEMPUS can be viewed below. The ANIMALIA FAMILIA characters were all illustrated by Magni Dezmond. They include Noir Vesper as cockroach Morf le Rosh, Axel Syrios as gorilla manager Gorira Manager, Magni Dezmond as robotic centaur CL0PB0T and Regis Altare as worm Justa Worm.
