Rock band I Don’t Like Mondays. are kicking off their 10th anniversary celebrations with the release of a new digital single titled "New York, New York".
Rock band I Don’t Like Mondays. released a new single titled New York, New York on April 24th. It is their first new release of 2024.
New York, New York is the first song marking the 10th anniversary of I Don’t Like Mondays., and it's based on the UK sound that is central to the band members’ roots. The track is said to depict the feelings of a heartbroken,
melancholic man.
Vocalist YU spent his high school years in New York and still makes regular visits, holding the city close to his heart. As a result, the lyrics are said to be filled with yearning, and the jacket artwork is a photo that YU himself
took in New York.

To further commemorate their first decade in music, I Don’t Like Mondays. will
perform in 13 cities across Japan on the Island Tour from April 30th. This will be followed by a tour of Asia titled ‘FOCUS’ ASIA TOUR in the fall. This will be the band’s first full-scale tour of Asia, with 10 performances in eight
cities.
