Yonezu Kenshi to Create Theme Song for "MIU404" Drama

After writing the "Unnatural" theme song Lemon, which turned into a monster hit, singer-songwriter Yonezu Kenshi has announced that he will be collaborating with the same team on their next drama series "MIU404". The theme song is titled Kanden, and it will be Yonezu's first new song of 2020. The drama will star Hoshino Gen and Ayano Go, and it will begin airing in April.

Yonezu commented, "I'm very happy to be working with the 'Unnatural' production team again. I read the concept and script of the drama, and comprehended a lot of things. The circumstances I live in, and the story the drama's characters get dragged into, I turned the things we had in common into music. I'm looking forward to how it comes together with the drama. Thank you very much."

In addition, scriptwriter Nogi said about the song, "It felt like he scooped up the prayer within the script. The song has a wide range of sounds that are light, exhilarating and slightly painful. It makes me want to listen to it forever." Producer Arai also gave it a stamp of approval: "I requested a song in which 'the morning sun rises in the Tokyo of 2020'. When I first heard the song, it felt like a song that has the feeling of sprinting. It packs a punch, and the power to grab the depths of one's heart. I have no doubt it will give the drama a great deal of power. I'm looking forward to seeing how this song reaches all of your hearts."

Kanden will be revealed for the first time during the broadcast of the first episode.
