TRANSIST, a new project spearheaded by ex-KAO=S shamisen player JACK, recently released its debut album.

Titled Trip to Nowhere, the album hit digital stores and streaming platforms on November 21st. It features nine tracks, all of which are instrumental. Two of the songs are covers. CURRY was originally by THE SYAMISENIST, while summer leaf was originally performed by Novem.

Physical copies of the release will be sold through the band's online store starting this month.

TRANSIST consists of JACK and YUJI on shamisen, MOB on guitar, DAISUKE (aka Daisuke Ueda of rock band Yellow Studs) on acoustic bass, KENJI on cajón and steel tongue drum and KYOHEI on drums.

The band was formed after JACK left KAO=S at the end of 2017. They aim to offer fans an eclectic mix of sounds from around the world, taking them on a "journey without borders through plains of sound". The project's concept deals with capturing and expanding upon the spontaneous inspiration brought on by the unexpected discoveries and chance meetings that one experiences while passing through countries and cities on the way to a trip's destination. Check out TRANSIST's official website for more information about the project.
