BALZAC

With a legacy that has spanned over two decades, BALZAC is one of Japan’s most acclaimed horror punk bands. Heavily inspired by The Misfits and Samhain during their early years, their lyrics often deal with horror movie staples like monsters, outer space and serial killers, but they aren’t afraid to delve into more emotional subject matter as well.

BALZAC is also known for their distinctive image, particularly their skeleton costumes and iconic mascots such as the Skullman and Paperbag Man. True entrepreneurs, the members help to design many of their own goods and run stores that sell toys, clothing and accessories, as well as official band merchandise. It is also worth noting that BALZAC have attracted a very devoted following outside of Japan due to extensive tours of the US and Europe, as well as their partnerships with The Misfits and Gan-Shin Records, who have released and promoted their material overseas.
