YOSHIKI

When the members of pioneering visual kei band X JAPAN took a break to pursue solo projects, drummer YOSHIKI took the unlikely step of striking out as a classical pianist. His piano skills were already a staple of the group's sound, but his 1993 debut album Eternal Melody was a fully acoustic affair. All subsequent releases have followed suit.

YOSHIKI's activity with the project has been sporadic due to his many commitments, but in 2014, he embarked on his first world tour. He also composed the theme for the 2015 Golden Globes Awards.
