When DaizyStripper came to Hokuriku to promote their new single Dearest, which will be released on June 3, it was still snowing, even though it was spring. Despite the cold, JaME and DaizyStripper had a great time!

On a cold afternoon, band members Yu-giri, Nao, Mayu, Rei and Kazami arrived at the Hokkoku Newspaper building and had an interview with reporters from the local news paper. Members gave their thoughts on the making of their new song Dearest and their impression of Kanazawa. When the topic of their lives came up, all the members became somewhat excited, keen to tell people about the uniqueness of this tour. It seems that at each locale, they would play a song that was based on something that was made in that area, something well known to local fans. For example, they had played songs about Soukasenbei (rice crackers made in Souka) in Saitama, peanuts in Kashiwa of Chiba Prefecture, natto (fermented soybeans) in Mito of Ibaragi prefecture, daruma bentou (a box lunch with a Dharma doll) in Takasaki of Gunma prefecture and even boiled rice in Niigata. So we wondered what we could expect them to play in Kanazawa…

They were very professional in the way that they did their photo shoot and comments recording, but what really struck a chord was during an interview with a magazine. There, the members talked about how they really enjoyed seeing the smiles that the fans give at their live concerts; it was very heartwarming to know something like that is so important to them.

Before the next interview, we had time to wander about in Bukeyashiki in Kanazawa, an area well known for its old traditional structures and samurai. The members shared umbrellas in the rain, happily walking around reminiscing about school excursions and dodging puddles while looking at various old houses and streets. We then stopped at a Japanese cafe and enjoyed Japanese sweets and hot tea.

After the break, we moved to FM Ishikawa. In the lobby, the band played around like kids with toy drumsticks, making various electronic sounds by shaking them around. After they had a short staff meeting with the director, they wrote comments for the HP of the radio program. Kazami accidentally wrote his real name, and the other members picked up on it and joked about, saying, “How long have you been doing visual kei?” Finally, all of the members went into the booth and started recording. They talked about Dearest and said that they wanted everyone to listen to this song, and they left the message, “We’ll come back to Kanazawa this summer again, so please wait for us!”

Looking at the band, they worked so well together. Yu-giri presided over the promotional side of things, Nao was a real mood-maker who likes to have fun, Mayu was a gentle leader who softened the atmosphere, Rei was always calm and cool, going with the flow, and Kazami was an artist with a delicate sensibility. It was interesting to watch them together; they really brought a much needed warmth to Kanazawa. Everyone will definitely be looking forward to seeing them again in the summer.

On the following day, March 28, DaizyStripper performed at the stylish wave CIRCUIT ’09 ‘Haru no Arashi' (spring storm) event, which was held at Kanazawa AZ, with six other bands: GLACIER, a unique pop/rock band from Okinawa; SINCREA, a young but experienced band that has performed in Finland; THE KIDDIE, with their brilliant songs and consistent staging; SERIAL⇒NUMBER, well known for really making an audience run high; himeichigo, a steady and firm performer; and -OZ-, a powerful band with a dark and heavy style.

The audience started clapping with the opening SE as drummer Kazami, bassist Rei, guitarist Nao and guitarist Mayu appeared on stage. Then, there was an announcement of "Number 4, center, Matsui!" and Yu-giri appeared, wearing a uniform with the number 55 on his back and a baseball bat in his hand. This time, DaizyStripper's locally themed song was inspired by Hideki Matsui, a famous baseball player from Ishikawa prefecture. “Listen to our new song!” Yu-giri shouted, and the band began with 4 ban, center, Matsui, an original song just for Ishiwawa. The audience went wild and headbanged, led by Yu-giri; dressed as Hideki Matsui, he stirred the fans by swinging his bat in the air. In the following heavy, hard endorphin., the Kazami's drums seemed to explode with sound, and Rei's roaring bass wasn't far behind. Mayu and Nao played guitar and headbanged hard, and Yu-giri shouted wildly, continuing to stir the fans from the front of the stage. Under flashing lights, the audience pumped up their fists into the air and headbanged everywhere, creating a storm in the venue.

The mood changed when Shikisai vivid started, and the gentle, warm message on a bright, catchy melody filled the venue. Nao, who was playing guitar at the center of the stage, suddenly kissed Yu-giri, which made the audience scream.

Then, the drums shook the floor and the audience started clapping. “Are you ready to be Godzilla!?" Yu-giri yelled, referencing the nickname of Matsui. "Hey, men and women! Shout!” Yu-giri kept stirring everyone and hit a ball into the audience. During the last song,TRUTH, the audience stretched their hands out and waved them from side to side to the brilliant melody. At the heavy interlude, they headbanged all together. Everyone there raised their hands at the end of this song, then the members left the stage with the words, “See you again!!”

Although it was quite cold in Kanazawa, DaizyStripper put on a hot show. Fans can only anticipate how much hotter the band's lives will be when they return to Kanazawa in the summer!
