GOLDEN BOX

LA VIE EN ROSE

The Golden Box was released only days before La Vie En Rose's disbandment on December 21st, 2006 and unfortunately is no longer available for purchase. The box contains their final musical release THE ROSY LIFE single and a DVD.

The title track of the single, THE ROSY LIFE, is very fast and catchy, one that can be considered La Vie En Rose's usual type of music. It begins with a short drum solo by kyohsuke and the band members saying a line which seems like short code for their last names before the other instruments join in. Throughout their 12 years, they created songs that were upbeat and quick-paced and this track is not too far behind following suit.

I say..., the second song written by Yuta, the first being Mabuta from their last full-length album, Atarashii Asa, is a perfect ending to this band's career. The track is solemn and heavy-hearted even if the music sounds soft and romantic. I say... is a nostalgic song about a couple who is parting ways although the narrator still wishes for other person to know he loves them and hopes to see them again.

The DVD portion of the box set contains live performances, random clips with La Vie En Rose and friends, and also short movies the band liked to cosplay and act out. With such humorous and outgoing personalities, this DVD is perfect for anyone who is interested in getting to know the guys on a semi-personal basis, but also see how they interact with each other and simply make music fun.

This collection contains memories of La Vie En Rose's past and a "final message" with the two tracks. Even if this band did not make it to major status and are no longer performing together, they brought happiness to the hearts of many fans and will be missed.
