2017 was a year of new beginnings for Shinya. 2018 looks bright for his solo career with SERAPH.

Shinya presented his new project to the world last year. With a theme of angelic beings and their view of the world through music, SERAPH brings to light a different musical side of the well-known DIR EN GREY drummer. With the release of Génesi last August, the world of SERAPH (both in Japan and online worldwide) has begun forming and will continue to develop this year.
