Sadie was created in February 2005 by Mao, Tsurugi, Aki, Mizuki and Sora. They started their activities on March 18, 2005 at BIG CAT in Osaka where they played as the opening act for Fatima, D, shulla and others.

A few months later on December third, Sadie had their first oneman called dekiai ~ As a sad matter of fact ~ . At this concert they introduced their new single Dekiai, which came out only a few days later.

Everything seemed to be going well for this young band until their drummer Sora left them in January 2006. The group decided to stay together and released more singles and in March, Sora was replaced by a new drummer named Kei. He was given a warm welcome by the fans and after joining the group, Sadie released their first mini-album, The Trend Killer, which was limited to only 4444 copies. Even though Sadie had always done their own thing and tried to stand out from other bands, they were often compared to Dir en grey after the release of this mini-album.

They continued releasing material and touring and they quickly got their own faithful fan base. At the end of 2006, they released their second mini-album THE SUICIDE MACHINE and also started a tour by the same name, which kept them occupied until the end of the year.

2007 started with a lot of concerts for the promising band and because of massive sales, a third press of their first mini-album The Trend Killer was released in February. A couple months later on April 18th, Sadie released their first DVD; it was limited to 3333 copies and titled THE SUICIDAL APPLICANTS. After their tour, they released their second DVD, Distract against the terrors.

During the summer of 2007, Sadie opened a fan club which they named UNDEAD. At the end of July their album BULLET STORM was released, followed by their tour HOWLING THE STORMY BULLETS, which ended in September in Tokyo.

Starting out the year 2008, the band participated in the event stylish wave COUNTDOWN '07-'08, organized by Zy magazine. The next few months, the group saw a number of releases that did very well on the Oricon charts: March 5th saw the release of another new single, Crimson Tear, which made it to second place on the Oricon indies weekly chart. It was followed a few months later by a compilation album, ”SADIE” ~UNDEAD13 + 2~, in June. This album reached sixth on the Oricon indies album weekly chart, and their single that came out the next month, Grieving the dead soul, hit number one on the Oricon indies single chart. They finished the year in style with their single Ice Romancer, and also participated in the huge visual kei event Over the Edge, at C.C. Lemon Hall on December 31.

2009 saw the release of another full album, MASTER OF ROMANCE, on February 25th, which was followed in March by their third live DVD, Grieving the dead soul at AKASAKA BLITZ 20081005. That month they also embarked on their extensive SPRING ONE MAN TOUR 2009 “MASTER OF ROMANCE”, which ended May 2nd in Shibuya. On July 15 they put out their eighth maxi-single, Kagerou, a song already released on the album MASTER OF ROMANCE but now with a PV accompanying it.

In August Sadie will perform with bands including D, Merry and MUCC at Fool’s Fest 09 -midsummer dream- in Tokyo. Soon after they will participate in the world’s largest visual kei festival; V-ROCK Festival 2009 will take place on October 24 and 25 in Tokyo.
