Though only for a short time, JaME chatted with the DaizyStripper members during their time at Japan Expo 2012 in Paris. The five performed twice over the Japan Expo weekend. This was DaizyStripper's first time abroad and each member seemed to thoroughly enjoy their stay.

Can you introduce one another to our readers?

Rei: This is Nao on guitar over here. His favourite colour is blue.

Nao: (In English) This is Yu-giri, the vocalist. His blood type is A.

Yu-giri: (In English) That’s Kazami who plays the drums and piano. He loves music, money and women! (laughs)

Kazami: The leader of the group is Mayu who really likes the colour red ocher.

Mayu: (In English) And this is Rei on bass—a generous person and a true gentleman.

For those who have not heard your music yet, what song(s) might you recommend to new listeners?

Kazami: I would recommend listening to Setsubo no Freesia that was used in the anime, Yu-Gi-Oh.

Yu-giri: For me, I’d choose KISS YOU. Though perhaps it's because there is English in the song, and also because we’ve performed it in Taiwan and the public has taken a liking to us. That was also the case in France when we gave our showcase. I think KISS YOU is really good example of a song to play.

Nao: I would pick decade!. At the end of the concert, we sang and then all of our fans went from left to right in the room dancing like rice being fried in a pan. (laughs)

Rei: For me, it has to be KISS YOU because it talks about the relationship between people. I love this song and I think we can try to find a link between us all through it.

Mayu: STAY GOLD was used as the final song in one of our concerts. This is because in the lyrics, there is this idea that the show must go on. I love this title by what means that one should never give up and always continue!

HUMALOID will be released in August. Can you tell us a little about it?

Yu-giri: It’s a mini-album with six tracks. Each of the tracks actually tells the story of six people who each have a miserable life, but do not let themselves down and instead want to always move forward. Initially, when we listened to the songs, we thought it was quite negative, but in fact it becomes quite positive towards the end. There's this idea of always moving forward.

Kazami: In terms of music, the sound for this mini-album is alternative electro rock.

Your first concert in Europe was here at Japan Expo. How was that experience for you?

Yu-giri: We really enjoyed the movement of the fans, their welcome and the atmosphere of the concert. Regarding visual kei in Japan, usually 80% of the audience is female, while it was 50/50 here. We were very pleasantly surprised. Moreover, it was our first concert in France and even though the songs were in Japanese, the audience was there to follow and sing with us.

Lastly, a message to your fans?

Yu-giri: We definitely want to return to France. We will do our best to come back and we hope that everyone will be ready to welcome us.

JaME would like to thank DaizyStripper and their management for making this interview possible.
