Rock band chatmonchy recently made an announcement via their official website that drummer Takahashi Kumiko will part ways with the group in September.

In a personal statement, Takahashi revealed that her reason for leaving chatmonchy was that she had "lost the power to continue with music" and felt that to doing so would prove "fatal for the creation of new music" and that it was "unfair" to carry on with Fukuoka Akiko and Hashimoto Eriko's passion for music when her own had dwindled.

While plans for Takahashi's future are uncertain, the drummer unveiled that she is sure that it will involve words. Furthermore, chatmonchy will continue as a two-piece unit following her departure.

Takahashi's last performances with chatmonchy will be on September 25th at the Nippon Budokan as part of TV Asahi's Dream Festival and on September 29th in Tokushima.
