'Japan, We've Not Forgotten You' Charity Concert in London

Four Jpop stars have announced they will be performing at the charity event to raise funds for the distraught Tohoku region.

On Tuesday June 28th, four big Japanese pop artists will unite to perform at a charity concert held at McQueen in Shoreditch, London, in support of victims in areas affected by the March 11th earthquake and tsunami.

Naomi Suzuki, an actress, singer and presenter, who is also co-ordinating the event, will be joined by Ayako Nakanomori, the former vocalist of NAKANOMORI BAND, multi-million selling artist Yuki Koyanagi and Mari Natsuki, a singer and actress who is known for her work in te film "Spirited Away" and the video game "Metal Gear Solid".

Suzuki states: "I hope that bringing these world famous artists together will send encouragement to the victims in Japan. It will show them that there are people from all over the world who are caring and supporting Japan."

After performing individually, the four will come together in a special unit to sing the charity single HOME, the CD of which will be given away for free with every ticket. The lyrics to this song were partly composed over Twitter between Suzuki and a victim who had lost his house in the tsunami, a story which caught the attention of the Japanese media. "His words captured the feelings of the people affected in a way I never could," says Suzuki. "We are together, no matter how far we are apart."

Opening the event for these four singers will be award winning violinist Diana Yukawa. Yukawa's debut album entered the charts at number one in Japan and she recently supported the famous Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins at Cheltenham Racecourse.

More information can be found on Japan Underground and tickets can be purchased from WeGotTickets.com.
