Utada Hikaru to Go on Hiatus

Japanese singer Utada Hikaru announced on her blog that she will be taking an indefinite break from her singing career starting next year.

Hikaru, who started performing at the age of 15, stated that she needs to take some time off to rest and develop more personal growth. When she will return to the stage is currently undetermined.

Before going on hiatus, Utada Hikaru will release a best of-album called Utada Hikaru Single Collection Vol. 2 featuring previous singles and new material. It will be released in the fall.
