Anzen Chitai Resume Activities

Veteran rock band Anzen Chitai are returning in 2010 after a six-year hiatus with the release of a new single.

Veteran rock band Anzen Chitai, known for hit songs like Wine Red no kokoro and Koi no yokan, are returning in 2010 after a six-year hiatus with the release of a new single.

Anzen Chitai was formed in 1973 in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, but their debut was not made until 1982, when they released their first single Moegiiro no Snap. They carved their name in the Japanese music scene as one of the most famous rock bands in the eighties and stayed active for a long time, even with a few hiatus periods on the way. In 2004, after releasing their tenth album, they entered yet another indefinite pause.

The announcement of the band's return came along with an appearance in Fuji TV's program "Tokudane!" on the 8th. On March 3rd, their new single, Aoi bara / Wine Red no kokoro (2010 Version) will go on sale, featuring a remake of their 1983 hit. Plans for the release of a new album in the summer are also on the works.

A sample of the video of Aoi bara, included in the limited edition of the single, is available to watch below:
