50th Anniversary Collaboration Album from Yumi Matsutoya

Singer-songwriter Yumi Matsutoya will round off celebrations for the 50th anniversary of her debut with the release of Yuming Kanpai! on December 20th.

Described as a "collaboration best” album, the release is said to have been envisioned as a unique twist on conventional remix and tribute albums.

Artists from various genres were given access to the original session recordings of seven songs — released between 1976 and 1995 — in order to produce quasi-collaborations with the younger Matsutoya.

Her 'collaborators' include pop duo YOASOBI, rock duo GLIM SPANKY, idol troupe Nogizaka46 (with Tetsuya Komuro as producer), hip-hop trio RHYMESTER, alt-rock band Quruli, singer-songwriter Yasuyuki Okamura, and ex-Suchmos vocalist YONCE.

Yuming Kanpai! will also contain a remix of Haru yo, koi by Russian DJ Nina Kraviz, and a remastered version of Imadakara, Matsutoya's 1985 collaboration single with Kazumasa Oda and Kazuo Zaitsu that's only ever been avaiable physically as a 7-inch vinyl single.
