Sayaka Kanda Has Passed Away

Sayaka Kanda passed away in Sapporo on December 18th.

The 35 year-old singer and actress was in the city for a performance of the musical "My Fair Lady". On Saturday afternoon she was found unconscious on an outdoor area of the 14th floor of the 22-story hotel she was staying at, near the theater. Later, at the hospital, she was confirmed dead.

Currently, police believe she either fell accidentally or committed suicide.

Kanda is most famous for voicing Anna in the Japanese dub of Disney's "Frozen", and as the voice of Yuna from the anime series "Sword Art Online". She also performed as a singer, both solo and as half of the duo TRUSTRICK, and had several roles in films, TV dramas and theater productions.
