Tackey & Tsubasa Has Disbanded

Pop duo Tackey & Tsubasa announced today that they officially disbanded on September 10th, bringing their 16-year career to a sudden end.

The duo went on hiatus in September 2017, and during their break from activities the two men considered their current circumstances very carefully and both decided that the best course of action was to go their separate ways. Takizawa Hideaki has decided to mostly retire as a performer by the end of the year, as he has been selected to succeed company president Kitagawa Johnny in his role as a producer. He wishes to devote his attention to activities like cultivating the talent of the Johnny's Juniors and producing works like stage plays and concerts for the agency's artists.

Imai Tsubasa, who has been sidelined recently due to his ongoing struggle with Meniere's Disease, has decided to retire from Johnny & Associates in order to focus all of his energy on his recovery.
