Rock band STRAIGHTENER have announced the release of a new single for November 15th.
Titled Akari, it will be their first single created in collaboration with famous Japanese singer-songwriter Motohiro Hata and their first release in more than a year and a half. The title track, which was written and composed by Hata and STRAIGHTENER’s vocalist Atsushi Horie, is described as a perfect love song for winter. The single’s coupling track, titled Uroko, is STRAIGHTENER’s cover of a single released by Hata in 2007.
This single will be released in one CD-only edition, which will feature the two above-mentioned tracks and their instrumental versions.
Moreover, in 2018 STRAIGHTENER will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their formation and the 15th anniversary of their major debut. To mark this milestone, their first tribute album will be released on October 18th. Titled Pause -Straightener Tribute Album-, it will feature several of the band’s songs covered by famous artists like ACIDMAN, ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, 9mm Parabellum Bullet, THE BACK HORN, the pillows, MONOEYES, and more.
