ORIGA Has Passed Away

Russian singer ORIGA has passed away at the age of 44. She passed on January 17th due to heart failure.

ORIGA is perhaps best known for her collaborations with composer Yoko Kanno on the soundtracks of anime series "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex". Based in Japan for nearly twenty years, she appeared on several other anime and video game soundtracks and pursued a solo career. She also appeared on SUGIZO's 2011 album FLOWER OF LIFE.

According to Nobuhiko Takahashi of ROAD&SKY ORGANIZATION, ORIGA had recently completed a new solo album, which will receive a posthumous release sometime in 2015 in order to remain faithful to her intention.
