amazarashi is a rock band from Aomori led by Hiromu Akita. They released their debut mini-album in 2009, and when audiences caught wind of their beautiful compositions, intense lyrics and eye-catching animated videos, their popularity grew exponentially through word of mouth - so much so that they landed a major deal the very next year.

amazarashi’s unique live performances have also helped to set them apart. The members perform behind a screen while images, video and text are projected onto it that help to communicate the worldview of each song. Both their music and visuals have been eagerly embraced by fans of animation as well. Their videos have won prestigious awards, and they recently performed the ending for the popular anime series “Tokyo Ghoul √A”, attracting tons of new fans both in their home country and overseas.
