When you hear a high-pitched shriek of “DISCOOO!!”, chances are the telephones aren’t far away. An electronic rock band from Saitama, their catchy songs, exuberant live shows and quirky sense of humour made them a staple of Japan’s summer rock festivals for over a decade.

the telephones decided put their activities on hold indefinitely after a final live at Saitama Super Arena on November 3, 2015. However, after the members pursued individual projects for a few years, they began performing occasional shows together as the telephones once again.
