Uniquely and intriguingly mixing rockabilly, psychobilly and marching music styles, Death March Kantai had both musical talent as well as bubbling, sparkling humour. Representing the dark, melancholic appearance, the band's songs even conveyed an occasional trace of metallic folk music. Despite the hard surface, if you looked deeper, you could find a group of jolly lads doing silly things. The bands' trademarks included the short film recorded alongside their music videos, which utilized old-fashioned effects, and the CD covers featuring their dog mascot dressed in marching band outfits.

Dynamite Osho, the leader of Death March Kantai, is nowadays the vocalist for Asakusa Jinta, playing a little lighter style of march rock.
