Kaya

The name Kaya means "the karyoubinka (a mythical bird living in paradise) that sings in the night". Visual kei fans will remember his clear, powerful voice from his time as vocalist of the electro duo Schwarz Stein. As a solo artis,t he aims to express a decadent aesthetic that transcends the boundaries of genres and gender and, in keeping with this concept, he experiments with different music styles ranging from pop to darkwave and traditional Japanese music.

He has enlisted the services of various composers, including Hora, his former partner in Schwarz Stein, but he writes all the lyrics and his imaginative, often surprisingly dark verses center around love, pain and human relationships. He is also a talented dancer and his stage shows, which often have sexual connotations, feature male and female dancers and drag queens.
