SPYAIR

With activities beginning as early as 2005, Spyair released a few indies albums and singles before being picked up by Sony Music. They soon debuted with their first major single, Liar, in late 2010. Since then, Spyair’s music has been chosen as theme songs for various TV anime such as "Bleach" and "Gintama," TV drama series such as HAMMER SESSION and recently, "Don★Quixote."

IKE inhales sharply before singing the first line in BEAUTIFUL DAYS. The track has a longing feeling attached to it. Orchestral harmonies layered upon acoustic guitar complement each other and IKE’s bright, carefree voice makes BEAUTIFUL DAYS soar to new heights. The track has been used as the ending theme for the drama series "Don★Quixote" and provides a dramatic contrast to the already wild plot.

The B-side, Reset, includes a small snippet of audio before getting into the actual song and shows a sillier side of the members. If one were to strip away the vocals in Reset, the backing track would sound similar to a less grungy Nirvana. When the vocals are included, the track evolves into a entirely different genre: experimental rock.

A live version of Kanjou Discord (LIVE ver.) is included on the single. Kanjou Discord (LIVE ver.) is a good listen as opposed to the original studio version recorded from two or so years prior, and is of similar high quality. It gives the listener a chance to hear Spyair in a live environment.

Overall, BEAUTIFUL DAYS is a gem in the sea of Japanese music. Hopefully, they will continue to release more music.
