THE VIDEO COMPILATION IV

Every Little Thing

Every Little Thing’s fourth collection of music videos was released on September 27, 2006, but don't think it's out of date. The nine songs included have been immortalized; though mostly heart-rending ballads or soft love songs, there are also two energetic pop-rock tracks featured on the DVD.

One of those is the very first track: fundamental love. It presents itself in bright pastel colours, nice still frames and funny ideas, like flying pigs for example. The whole arrangement with the great melodies forms a unified whole. The next few songs are all soft ballads in which you see some couples, beautiful nature scenes and even a wedding. For the sad acoustic ballad good night, a jet-black night and a piece of asphalt was chosen to be its visual representation. The only source of light comes from a vehicle, and its headlights illuminate Kaori and Ichiro. Behind the latter, you can just make out some of the support musicians hiding behind the singer.

Kimi no te is a video full of imaginative ideas. The image of a broad photo wall turns into an awakening and blooming wall of plants and nature, which perfectly fits the soft, emotional song. azure moon, on the other hand, presents itself as a story of generations. In the end, all the people look into the night sky, be it the kindergarten boy and his father, a teenager or the musicians of Every Little Thing.

Beautifully coloured and hypnotic, the video to the rousing hi-fi message was features falling dominoes to create a very special atmosphere, and you'll find it hard to look away from the screen. Closing the collection is another fast tune with a thoughtful note, swimmy. Here, the story of three girls is in focus, showing them either sitting on swings, running down a street or swimming in a pool.

The collection is thoroughly well-balanced and offers some nice tracks. The videos accompanying the songs present very nice, touching stories. The only really annoying thing is the washed out colouring that seems to dominate all but two videos; but all in all, this DVD would be worth the time of fans and ones who are interested in discovering Every Little Thing.
