dream - Boy meets Girl -a little more-

When a girl meets a boy...

After their new mini-album Boy meets Girl was released, dream followed it up with a DVD containing a few music clips. The DVD has been on sale since February 15, 2006, but is it worth the purchase?

After inserting the DVD, it starts directly with the main movie and presents the extended PV of Transit -independence-, the lead song off the mini-album. The song was extended to nine minutes, whereas the CD edition runs approximately seven minutes! During the whole time, the love stories of the girls are told in individual episodes; the locations range from an aquarium to an amusement park. The story of Yu and her boyfriend from the PV Kono natsu ga owaru mae ni is continued, and you’ll see some interesting turns and turmoil around the theme of love.

Before you really understand everything, the Shooting Guide is starting, and here you get a behind the scenes feature of approximately 20 minutes total. In a very amusing, slightly silly but also charming way, Ami and Aya lead the way through the set while doing some silly stuff or sabotaging some scenes. There are some exciting views into the costly clip recordings and footage of the additional cast. Because everything is seamlessly strung together, the border between the guide and the Off Shot becomes blurred.

Off Shot picks up with footage of the girls feeding pelicans, which was a big highlight for Ami, Aya, Sayaka and Erie. Between feedings, they also visit a sushi stand, and you’ll also see some beautiful mementos from the whole experience. The whole DVD video runs 39 minutes.

Effects like aging, found at the beginning of the PV, or fast-forwarding are atmospheric and are really nice to watch. Even the colourful subtitles which occur sometimes support the kitschy theme through the DVD.

Other than the above mentioned bonus movies - the making-of and off shot - there is a booklet included with the DVD. In it, all the members of the cast and their relationships with each other are displayed.

Fans can get this DVD without any regrets, and even those new to dream's music will find the DVD nice and entertaining. You get an in-depth view of the individual characters of the girls.
