Hero ☆

hiro

... is part of the lyrics from the coupling track My Crazy Days, but in truth, hiro is looking after a hero with her ninth single.

The title song welcomes you with an unusual stop-and-go tempo and distorting effects. The rhythm is mid-tempo and easy to dance to. Interestingly, the song seems to contain some parallels to Suzuki Ami’s Potential Breakup Song during the main melody, but this won’t be a big issue. The already mentioned B-side, My Crazy Days, has some similar effects and presents itself as really catchy tune because of its rousing guitar beats and the schmaltzy chorus. And then there is the calm Spring, in which hiro is brilliant with her sensitive vocals.

Of course, the instrumental versions of the tracks are available as well. However, the A-side takes on a nerve-wracking character because of the remaining “who” calls; without hiro’s vocals, the entire song becomes unbalanced.

Hero is for fans of pop and dance music; it's a “now and then” experience and could be interesting. But, the single is fairly average on the whole - don't expect anything new or exceptional. Of the three songs available, Spring is probably the best track, with its well-balanced nature and calming melody.
