This year marks the 25th anniversary of GLAY's debut, and they have announced some plans to celebrate.

First of all, they have declared that one of the main reasons for their longevity is that GLAY's four members all make decisions together and combine their individual ideas and talents into a stronger whole. They believe that a band is a democracy, and that GLAY is not just its four members but also the fans that have shared experiences with them throughout their long career. With this in mind, they have decided that the theme of their activities for 2019 will be "GLAY DEMOCRACY".

They have revealed that their anniversary celebrations under this theme will include seven promises. So far, only the first four have been announced. The first is a nationwide hall tour. The second will be a new single. The third will be a performance at the MetLife Dome, and the fourth will be the release of their 15th album. Details regarding the releases, shows, and promises five through seven will be announced at a later date.

In addition, GLAY are hoping to engage their fans both inside and outside of Japan this year. So far, they have mentioned that they will be performing in South Korea for the first time this summer. They will take the stage at KBS ARENA in Seoul on June 29th and 30th. Vocalist TERU also recently composed the title track for Korean boyband PENTAGON's Japanese major debut single COSMO.

A short version of the video for GLAY's November 2018 single Urei no Prisoner and a comment about their upcoming shows in Korea can be viewed below.
