MeteoroiD

METEOROID started out as a session group formed by vocalist GENKI, bassist ral and drummer Tomoya after the dissolution of their previous band RED universe. They held their first live at Shibuya REX on March 26, 2012.

They continued to hold session lives in the months that followed with support members from bands such as Bergerac and GAKIDO, as well as TaNo from RED universe. Something must have clicked with the addition of guitarists Yutori and Machi (ex-ViG∞DIVA), however, as METEOROID announced that they would become an official band on December 20th.

Their first maxi-single DIVER was released on February 13, 2013. They put out three more maxi-singles before the end of the year, and held a free one-man event at Shibuya REX on December 4th.

Keeping this momentum rolling into the new year, METEOROID announced a number of plans for 2014, including a one-man in February and the release of their first full album GEMINI in August.

Unfortunately, the fall would see Yutori leave the band after a final one-man on September 27th. Afterwards, the band changed their concept dramatically, opting for a darker sound and trading their signature green in for all-black costumes. They also began writing their name as MeteoroiD to emphasize this turning point in their career.

MeteoroiD were joined by new guitarist Mikado on November 21st and they wasted no time getting back to work, releasing three consecutive singles in January, March and May 2015.
