Impressively, Tanco Buchin formed back in 2007 while its members were still in elementary school, seemingly amidst the pressures of studying and preparing for exams. The following year, the group appeared on Nippon TV’s “Zenryoku! Tunes”, which was sponsored by McDonald’s. Tanco Buchin won a Roland keyboard, awarded by the judges.

During Karatsu’s Junior Music Festival 2009, Tanco Buchin collectively made it to the grand prix round and won. The following year was quiet, but in 2011 Tanco Buchin ventured to Yeosu, South Korea where the members participated in the 11th Yeosu Kokusai Youth Festival; there, new talent in Japan and Korea is sought while helping to strengthen ties between the two countries. Tanco Buchin participated and performed at the event, and as a result, released the single Koi Gokoro on November 25, 2011.

In 2012, Tanco Buchin appeared on a summer special version of Nihon TV’s “AKBINGO”, with other fellow “girl” bands. The following year in early 2013, the five made the final round in YAMAHA’s “amateur” music event, The 6th Music Revolution Japan Final and in March, they were able to perform a live, START, to a crowd of 600 people at their elementary school. On the same day, Tanco Buchin released an indie single, UJI UJI, with cover art that depicted the members in a cute cartoon manner.

This July, it was decided that Tanco Buchin will debut majorly as a “girl’s band” under YAMAHA Music. No releases have been announced yet but it surely will be filled with girl power!
