Towards the end of 2002, the quartet enie meenie was formed. They played their first live at Chelsea Hotel in Shibuya in February 2004. Just over a year later, enie meenie debuted with their first mini album curtain call under the label Lastrum. A release party was held at Shimokitazawa SHELTER, alongside other indie acts such as pocketlife, polyABC and SKYBEAVER. Two months later, the band contributed to the first of several volumes of the omnibus album series sour pop sounds. Later in November, the second omnibus album sour pop sounds was released.

In 2006, enie meenie released a split mini-album with afterpilot and then held a release party in March of the same year at Shibuya LUSH with additional groups FREAKYFROG and Short Circuit. In November, enie meenie contributed to the third volume of sour pop sounds. The year 2007 saw the release of enie meenie’s first album under the label Lastrum and the group went on a nationwide tour. They toured for four months after the release with support acts BANDWAGON, the chef cooks me and riddim saunter across Japan.

Mid-2008 enie meenie was featured on the fourth omnibus album, sour pop sounds vol. 4. After playing at Shimokitazawa SHELTER with AS MEIAS, BEEF and nenem, enie meenie released their second full-length album, Fantasy of Life. One of the tracks on the album, Fantasy of Life included a short sound byte in the beginning of the track that uses the line “eenie meenie miney moe” from a children’s nursery rhyme, which is part of the group’s concept.

In January of 2009, enie meenie played a one-man concert before releasing a live distributed EP, Daydream About Gloria as well as participating on the fifth omnibus album in the sour pop sounds series.

Currently, enie meenie continues to play shows while working hard to record new material. Their latest collection of work has been compiled on their third full-length album, Tokyo Reflection and was released in March 2011.
