DAIGO, performing as DAIGO☆STARDUST, had been pursuing his solo career for four years, but nevertheless he still wanted to start a band. On the day of the last performance of DAIGO as a solo musician, on June 4th 2007, he announced his new project, BREAKERZ.
It was just two days later when BREAKERZ first single, THE TRAIN'S GONE…/JOKER, hit the iTunes shop and their second CD, WAKE UP MY SOUL/Re:born followed shortly after. It wasn't long either until the release of their debut album, BREAKERZ. In August the band performed for the first time, playing at SHIBUYA BOXX.
Their first performances in front of a big audience took place while touring together with Acid Black Cherry as the opening act. This busy year was wrapped up by the band's second album CRASH & BUILD, as well as a series of live events.
2008 was no less packed than the year before. There had been four new releases, including their first mini-album Ao no Mirai and a third album BIG BANG!. The following singles, SUMMER PARTY/LAST EMOTION, Sekai wa Odoru/Shakunetsu and Angelic Smile/WINTER PARTY all reached high positions in the Oricon charts. BREAKERZ's schedule was packed with performances, playing live at least once a month. Eventually band began touring solo, playing in Zepp venues in order to promote their new work.
Apart from intensive touring and many releases – including the group's fourth album FIGGHTERZ - 2009 saw their first live DVD. This DVD contained a recording of their performance in Nippon Budokan, when the members celebrated the band’s second anniversary. BREAKERZ also took part in V-ROCK FESTIVAL 09, which resulted in overseas interest.
From 2009 straight into 2010, the band conducted the BREAKERZ LIVE TOUR 2009~2010 “FIGHTERZ”, performing in clubs all over Japan. In April BREAKERZ recorded acoustic mini-album called B.R.Z ACOUSTIC, while in May a new live DVD of the tour was released.
In November 2010 the group’s popularity surged incredibly after the release of a new single, Bunny Love / Real Love 2010. The record hit fourth place of the Oricon charts.
Traditionally in 2011 another live DVD was released – this time from their concert BREAKERZ LIVE 2010 "WISH 02" in Nippon Budokan which had been recorded at the band’s anniversary concert. The year was full of new releases, with two new singles and the release of their fifth album GO!. Also their concert schedule was packed until the end of the year.
BREAKERZ is a group with incredible energy whose members possess great talent and charisma. There is no reason for us to fear them slowing down, they can still show us even more than before.
