On October 6, 2005, at a McDonald's in Naha-shi, Okinawa, vocalist Sachiko and guitarist Yuko brought FLiP to life; and shortly thereafter, bassist Sayaki and drummer Yuumi joined the two.

As all four girls were still in school, they were unable to hold live performances or focus on the band over the next few years. However, by 2008 the band took off, releasing their first mini album, Hahakara umareta hinekura-no uta on June 25. A few months later, FLiP began performinging regularly throughout Japan, starting in late September and continuing through the end of the year.

In 2009, FLiP was invited to perform not only on the SXSW US tour but also in Japan Nite, which features Japanese popular punk and rock bands. They performed three times in Japan before embarking on their first US tour March 20, 2009, shortly after the release of the mini-album Kanshou chuudoku. Starting in Texas, the group finished the tour in Los Angeles on March 29th. They soon returned to Japan, playing at the Doing it to Dance event in Shibuya on April 2nd.

FLiP's live activity remained steadily through the fall, and they appeared during HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR's 2009 tour in December. The girls played right into 2010, releasing DEAR GIRL in February and continually appearing at group live events. In September, the mini-album mulu mole hit store shelves, and FLiP commemorated the event with a fifteen stop nationwide tour in Japan.

On December 26th they performed at the Cheers!!! event at Shibuya Eggman. Their first event for the new year will be A ROCKIN NEW YEAR!! on the 29th of January. After the February release of their new single Katonaigo, the girls will open for ORESKABAND's Color Collection 2011 tour in March.

Growing ever popular, fans should keep an eye on FLiP, as this talented bunch is not slowing down any time soon!
