Pop-rock band LiN CLOVER began in 2002. In the beginning, it was only with bassist Ren and guitarist Nao. They joined up together to pursue their own music. Prior to LiN CLOVER, the two were touring and recording with various major artists such as GACKT. They met vocalist Yuri at the AXIA auditions after she won with her demo-tape song Nijindasuki.

In the autumn of 2002, the trio played their first live performance, which led to their first single. It sold out in only two weeks. Their first album, LiN CLOVER, was released at the beginning of 2004, and it also received the same enthusiastic reaction as their first single. Due to the success of their career, they were able to host a regular event called "INNER CRACK" in which they invited various other bands to play along with them.

In February of the next year, LiN CLOVER released their second album Strain Gauge and the EP Nut, followed by an extensive tour of Japan. In March of 2006, it was announced LiN CLOVER’s music would be available for download on the site Japanfiles.com, a Japanese music site which promotes their music to overseas fans.

The year 2007 was a groundbreaking year for LiN CLOVER as debuted in America. In April, they performed at the US anime convention Sakura-Con in Seattle, Washington. The band was nominated for magazine Shoujo Beat’s annual music awards for Best Japanese Rock Band. In November of 2007, they were able to make another US appearance at Los Angeles' Pacific Media Expo for a performance and panel.

Not even a month after their appearance at PMX, LiN CLOVER announced their indefinite hiatus. It would take place after their two lives in January, giving their Japanese fans one last chance to see them live. The three members soon moved on to separate projects. Ren is now working on a band called W・O・R・L・D, and Yuri is the main vocalist for music project chelsea weisz. Nao does not have his own project, but he is recording and doing activities for major artists. Although they are on indefinite hiatus, they have released an EP called be a good boy. They have said that this is the new, upbeat direction that LiN CLOVER will continue in when they return. Hopefully, the band will come back together and return with this new music style.
