Although LM.C was originally formed by maya and others back in 2003, little is known about the early years of the group. Somewhat like their current line-up, they relied on support members and other musicians during lives, which is how Aiji, then still with PIERROT, first came to work with LM.C as a support guitarist.

When rock band PIERROT announced their disbandment in 2006, Aiji decided to officially join maya in LM.C. Though maya may be best known to international fans as one of miyavi's support guitarists, he performs vocals for LM.C and leaves the guitar playing to Aiji.

The duo was signed to the label Pony Canyon and released their first two singles, Trailers (Gold) and Trailers (Silver), simultaneously in October 2006. They took part in various events throughout the end of the year and well into 2007 before releasing a new single, OH MY JULIET. This was followed by their first album, GLITTER LOUD BOX, released in early March, and the announcement of a new tour.

However, maya and Aiji were only getting warmed up, as they continued to tour and participate in events throughout the year, including a tour final at the famous Shibuya-AX.

2007 also saw the release of three more singles and an autumn tour in November.

Starting off 2008 with the winter extension of their tour, they followed this with the release of yet another single, JOHN, prior to kicking off their spring tour at MA.CA.NA. in Sendai.

Their next single, 88, released on June 4th, was used in the anime ‘Katei Kyoushi Hitman REBORN!’ On the same date, the duo also released their first DVD; a PV collection.

Further extending their reach, LM.C made their first journey to the USA in July to perform at Anime Expo's BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2008 and at Crash Mansion in Los Angeles. July also saw the band performing in Taiwan at Formoz 2008 alongside artists like Plastic Tree, MONO, INORAN, Akiakane and more.

☆ROCK the PARTY☆'08, LM.C's first live DVD, was released in September and their album GIMMICAL☆IMPACT!! was released a few months after. Their 2008-2009 tour, which kicked off at BAY HALL in Yokohama, took the band throughout Japan in November and the band made their way through South America and made their European debut in January and February of 2009, performing in Italy, Spain, France, the UK, Germany, Sweden and Finland. During the European leg of the tour, fans were given the opportunity to meet maya and Aiji in person to shake hands and autographs as well as being given small gifts from the band.

Their next release; PUNKY ❤ HEART was released in May and the track Days was used as the opening theme for the anime-based game ‘Katekyo Hitman REBORN! DS Fate of Heat II - Unmei no Futari’ for the Nintendo DS. This release was available as a download and included a digital booklet when downloaded on iTunes for selected countries.

Due to the outbreak of Swine Flu in North America, LM.C cancelled the Dallas, Texas performance at A-KON TWENTY in May 2009 due to health concerns. Pony Canyon prohibited employees and musicians from travelling overseas until the World Health Organization determines safety from the flu. The band plans to return after the ban has been lifted.
