Deshabillz

Deshabillz formed in 1992 and has since come a long way, from being indies to the shining major throne.

Deshabillz was formed by vocalist SHUN in Yokohama. Unfortunately, this was a band that went through several line-up changes throughout its lifespan. The first phase of Deshabillz began with MATSU and FUAY on guitar, YUJI on bass, and for the first year of their creation, the support drummer JUN, who later became a permanent member. At the end of the year, they distributed their first demo and video tapes.

Deshabillz was quite a success in the visual kei scene at the beginning of their career and continued to build their popularity through various performances with audiences that usually exceeded 300 people. Then, after their first year, MATSU left the band, making Deshabillz a quartet. With the current line-up, they began recording their first album with the label La Miss, an indies label of KUROYUME. However, in October, after the parting of YUJI and FUAY, the release was canceled and they made a label change to Monster EP. That was when the second phase of Deshabillz took place. Shaisuke replaced YUJI on bass, and SHI-NO replaced FUAY on guitar. Shaisuke's presence with the band was very short and in December he was soon replaced by HIROSHI.

In 1994, the album which had been canceled earlier was finally released, but this time with the second phase of Deshabillz. On the day the album was released, HIROSHI left the band. A few months later, JUN also left. Thus, the third phase of Deshabillz began. Shigure became the bassist and TOSHIYUKI became the drummer. The rest of the year went fairly smoothly and they released their second album in November. Unfortunately, due to an accident, Shigure was hospitalized and then quit the band. He was replaced by Hizumi, who became the final bassist for Deshabillz.

Through the next couple of years, Deshabillz finally reached a state of temporary stability, along with having a plethora of releases. In 1997, the band signed with major label Atlantic East-West Japan and had their first major release in September. However, this stability was short-lived. TOSHIYUKI left the band and he was quickly replaced by KAZUKI. This was the final phase of Deshabillz.

On May 7th 1998, to everyone's horror, Hizumi was involved in a fatal car accident. That was when SHUN finally pulled the plug on the band and Deshabillz disbanded. The following year, using a mask band called Rasen VIRUS, Shinjitsu no omocha hako, which was a mourning album of the deceased band member, was released.

It wasn't until ten years after the band's disbandment that Deshabillz was revived by vocalist SHUN and four support members: Yuu, Nakanishi Shingo, Tera, and Shuuna, along with producer KISAKI, Under Code Production. For three consecutive months, beginning in March, the band released a single, mini-album, and a full-length album, which showed high ambition for the revived band. However, activities seem to have stalled after that May release and no further information can be found.

SHUN has shown much prosperity in his attempt at success in the music industry. Despite the lack of activities for Deshabillz in this new second life, hopefully one day they will reach the level of fame they deserve.
