GOTHIKA started under the name Euthanasie in 2001 and was created by andro and n@o. After they spent two years to create their gothic romantic music and their strange sensual universe, they decided to hire #449 whose arrival accelerated the band's activities. That very same year the band released Savage Messiah and in 2004, it's worthy successor, Gloomy Sunday, came out.

The lyrics that are written by the androgynous singer are just like him: sexually perverted. In 2005, the band offered their fans a first DVD simply called I hate myself NOW!!!.

In summer 2006, Euthanasie attempted to open themselves to Europe with Queer Chronicle, a conceptual mini-album. A few months after, the three members of Euthanasie made their way over to Europe and started their tour Delusion a go go! Europe tour 2006. They toured in many countries, introducing the European audience to their unique sound.

Shortly after, in January 2007, the band changed their name from Euthanasie to GOTHIKA. That was not the only change made, as guitarist n@o left the band around this period.

In 2007, the band had toured in Europe various times and released a new album in September. They intend to return to Europe for more tours, and seem to have plans to come to the USA someday. So be sure to check them out when they play near you!
