Kenllre (whose Japanese name is キナルラ, romanized as kinarura) formed as a session band in October 2001 and James and Aoi had played together in their previous band. Their first live was held in February 2002 and their first demo tape was released a month later. In March, one of their songs was featured on the omnibus Punishment party Vol.3 and, a month later, a second pressing of their first demo tape came out.

The band did not waste any time and released their first maxi, suzume no namida, in July. One of their songs was featured on Punishment party Vol.4 and Kenllre went on a tour that consisted of seven shows in various cities across the country.

In the following months, they appeared on two more omnibus albums, LOOP OF LIFE II and III. 2003 witnessed the release of two more demo tapes and, in October, they finally released their first mini-album, kyoufu yuuenchi.

In December they joined forces with beaU to perform three lives together. In March 2004 their fourth and final demo tape was distributed during a show at Ikebukuro Cyber. Afterward the band concentrated on playing lives. On September 18th they held a two-man live with Calmando Qual, during which a free CD commemorating the event was distributed. In the same month, they also released their second maxi-single.

2005 brought more lives. In February they went on another nationwide tour, which ended on April 3rd with a two-man live with Sugar Trip. The band was soon back on the stage, performing mainly in the Tokyo area. In July they held another event in cooperation with beaU and, on August 6th, they had their first one-man show at Ikebukuro Cyber, during which another commemorative CD was distributed. Their fourth single was also released that month.

Since the beginning, the band had been very active so it was no surprise when 2006 was a busy year. In January, together with Gift, they had a two-man live at Ikebukuro Cyber and a coupling CD entitled shunkashuutou was released soon after. They started a tour in February that ended on March 11th at Ikebukuro Cyber with their second one-man show. July witnessed the release of their second mini-album and, in October, they participated in the Shock Edge'06 omnibus album. As if one band was not enough, the members have also participated in various session bands. Dora also played as the support drummer for Deflina Ma'riage.

Kenllre kicked off 2007 with a two month coupling tour with Billy, spending March and April touring across Tokyo. However, during this time, they announced their intention to disband, stating that James planned to retire from the scene and, on April 4th, they released a final CD, saigo no bansan. Kenllre disbanded on May 5, 2007 during their final live at Ikebukuro Cyber.

It is unfortunate that such a unique band like Kenllre ended so soon, but they can be certain that their music and crazy antics will continue to live on in their wake.
