STRAY PIG VANGUARD

After the disbandment of Rouage, members Kazushi and Rayzi decided to form a new group: Stray Pig Vanguard. They debuted in 2001, releasing their first maxi single, Moeru GOMI, in June. At the same time, they kicked off their first tour: STRAY PIG VANGUARD. TOUR 2001. In the following September, they released their first album, Trash N°1.

In early 2002, they released their first video, Kazemidori. Shortly afterward, they released another video, Yozora, in June, as well as a single of the same title in September. Their first live concert video S.P.V VARIABLE LIVE BAND 1 VIDEO, featuring their June concert in Shibuya AX, was released in November that year.

By the following year, they signed under Nippon Crown for two CDs. They did not release anything until September, when their maxi single Stardust came out. A month later, they released their second album, MIXTURE. By the end of the year, Rayzi announced that he would quit the group after their last tour. Stray Pig Vanguard ceased activities in early 2004 for about ten months until Kazushi resumed activities supported by Okamoto Hiroshi and Noguchi Kaoru.

Since resuming activities, Stray Pig Vanguard kicked off live activities with a four-month long tour in February 2005, and focused on live performances through the rest of the year. Over the next two years, the band released two maxi singles and the Planet album in 2007. Stray Pig Vanguard continued strong through 2009, and scheduled DEEP SPACE NINE a long nationwide tour during the fall months of 2010.

With Stray Pig Vanguard still going strong, fans should keep an eye on them for what the band has up its sleeve for 2011!
