Aya & Chika

Aya & Chika

It was in 1998 that producer Tetsuya Komuro decided that the lead vocalist of D&D, Olivia Lufkin, had potential to be come a solo artist and so split the group of three girls into two different artists: OLIVIA as a solo artist, and AYA and CHIKANO as the duo Aya & Chika.

However, Aya & Chika were never as successful as OLIVIA, and their career was very short. They disbanded after about a year and a half, having only released the two singles: Kiss in the sun and Rise in my heart. Both singles had the happy eurobeat sound like D&D used to have and didn't really bring in anything new.

Later, Higa Chikano became a member of the jpop group Hipp's, which disbanded as well.

Right now it does not seem like either of the two girls are pursuing a music career, but maybe we will hear from them again in the future.
