SID - Fuyu no Bench

Paired with the release of their newest single in the last few days of 2011, SID has undergone an image change. They will be touring around Japan on a short six-month tour that will last until the first part July 2012.

Unlike Itsuka, which features Mao’s overtly bright, nasal vocals with a predictable melody, this new A-side tones down any predictability but remains a ballad. Released December 28, 2011, Fuyu no Bench shows off SID’s - especially Mao’s - ability to create a ballad, and it has worked in their favour. The title alone attracts thoughts of love and relationships; Fuyu no Bench would certainly work well as part of a film.

The catchier B-side makes you wonder if it’s really the A-side. Otori experiments with some slight funk and reggae in its backing track. There is more guitar twang and a different beat to the track, showing a different side to SID.

In the same manner as the previous single Itsuka, another portion of the dead stock TOUR 2011 is included with the regular edition: Alibi (Live from “dead stock TOUR 2011”). It’s a unique experience to be able to hear a live track without having attended the live and also keep that track as a souvenir.

The full PV hasn’t been released yet but there are two versions, both of which are included on Type A & B respectively.
