YURA YURA TEIKOKU Disbands

YURA YURA TEIKOKU, a psychedelic rock band hailing from Tokyo had made an announcement of their disbandment on their official home page.

This band, who is made up of members Shintaro Sakamoto on vocals and guitar, Chiyo Kamekawa on bass and Ichiro Shibata on drums formed in February 1989. On March 31st, YURA YURA TEIKOKU disbanded after 21 years of activities. The reason for the dissolve was that the members felt that they have reached the limits of their musical potential as a band. The members would continue with separate solo activities but these are yet to be announced.

The band thanks all the fans and everyone who was involved with YURA YURA TEIKOKU and hope that everyone would consider this dissolution a progressive step towards the future.
