2006 had not been particularly kind to NEWS, who unfortunately had to go on a hiatus. However, now that it's 2007, the group is back with a tour and their new single Hoshi wo mezashite is to be released on March 21st, a year after their latest. The title track will be used as theme song for the movie Happy Feet, in which one of the character is dubbed by Yuya Tegoshi, one of the band's members.

The first press of the single will come with a DVD, an extra song, and a 12 page booklet.

In other NEWS news, Ryo Nishikido is going to be keeping quite busy. In addition to his work with NEWS, he is also a member of Kanjani 8 who announced recently during a show in Osaka that they will be going on a forty-seven city tour lasting from May until September. Kanjani 8 will also be releasing their sixth major label single on April 11th which is titled zukkoke otokomichi.
