Space Gate is a preview of mekakushe's upcoming digital album Love After 13.8 Billion Years, which will be released on November 7th. Also featured on the release will be mekakushe's ending theme song for the anime series "Kowloon
Generic Romance", Retronym of Love, and two insert songs she contributed to the same series, Yuwanamerou and My Own Polaris.
mekakushe commented:
"When we are born, and when we die, we are all alone. Even when you’re beside me, I am still alone. That loneliness feels unbearable sometimes. Unless you—Loneliness itself—knock on the door of dawn, my night will never end. But
lately, I’ve begun to think maybe that’s alright. It’s okay to be lonely. Because I’m lonely, I want to be with you. Because I’m lonely, I sing. And I want to feel joy in that. May my album Love After 13.8 Billion Years never stop
playing. May I keep wandering through your universe, even in the next life."
Kousuke Hayashi commented:
"I arranged the song to evoke a sense of nostalgia in anyone’s heart. While working on it, I found comfort in how the music seemed to gently loosen the heart, like returning to a shared hometown."
Otsukimi commented:
"I’m truly honored to have been asked to create the music video for Space Gate. I had a wonderful time illustrating a world inspired by the moon, the stars, and the cosmos. The rotating merry-go-round scene is especially dear to me. It came
together through many rounds of brainstorming and careful fine-tuning. The reversal of its rotation between the first and second halves expresses the emotional shift of the girl in the story. I hope you enjoy this touch along with the beautiful song and
lyrics."
