New Album from DELUXE×DELUXE

Showa-era pop performance group DELUXE×DELUXE will release a new album on June 11th.

Choju-giga is the seven-piece's second full-length release, coming two years after Senshibankou. The album will contain fourteen tracks including the digital singles Haruiro and Dynamic Ryukyu, as well as a cover of YOUNG MAN (Y.M.C.A.), Hideki Saijo's Japanese-language adaptation of The Village People's 1978 hit.

Choju-giga's title — "choju" means "super-heavy" in this instance — is a pun on the name of a set of famous medieval picture scrolls. It also reflects DELUXE×DELUXE's gleefully body-positive worldview: vocalist Asagao, guitarist Suiren, bassist Suzuran and drummer Sakura proudly proclaim their combined weight of 555kg.
