Boyband GENERATIONS released a new single, titled Two Steps Back, on April 7th.
This is the third installment in the "PRODUCE 6IX COLORS" project, which began this February. The project will see each of the six members of GENERATIONS produce a new song, with one released each month.
The new track was produced by GENERATIONS leader
Alan Shirahama, with sound production courtesy of Shintaro Yasuda. Yasuda is a Grammy-nominated Asian-American producer, songwriter, DJ and musician based in Los Angeles, California, whose credits include
Ariana Grande’s Off the Table and Dream from BLACKPINK member
LISA’s album Alter Ego.
The song’s repeating hook and rhythmic beats are said to "symbolically express the tactics of love and the sense of distance between two partners, balancing a sense of sorrow with a hot global sound."

The lyric video for the track was animated by illustrator Nui, who gives it a
retro feel reminiscent of the 1990s.
