Boyband KAT-TUN have announced they will be disbanding on March 31st.

The group's agency STARTO ENTERTAINMENT noted that KAT-TUN's three members had chosen to renew their contract for another year in April 2024, but after having various discussions over the last year, they chose to close their activities as a group and go their separate ways in April 2025.

Group members Tatsuya Ueda and Yuichi Nakamaru will continue their activities with STARTO ENTERTAINMENT, but Kazuya Kamenashi has chosen to leave the company on the same date as their disbandment.

KAT-TUN was formed in 2001, originally consisting of six members. They released their debut single Real Face in 2006, and they have been active as a trio since 2016. Kamenashi, who was born in 1986 and joined the group's former agency Johnny & Associates in 1998, is KAT-TUN's youngest member. In addition to his music activities, he is a well-known drama and film actor.

The music video for the lead track from KAT-TUN's 2023 album Fantasia can be viewed below, followed by a live video for Harukana Yakusoku.
