Rock idol group NANONI released a new digital single on January 25th.
Vainglory is the third single from their ongoing six-month consecutive release campaign, and it's said to mark "a pivotal moment for the group as they explore new musical territories, introducing a powerful and intense alternative metal sound."
The song features lyrics penned by group member Inori Ema, marking her first time ever providing lyrics for NANONI. It's said to be a fierce "girl crush" anthem aimed at those who live life with strength and determination. The
title translates to "unrestrained vanity"—a concept that resonates with the lyrics. The track speaks to Inori Ema's personal journey of struggling with self-image and the pursuit of an ideal self. It's said to have an empowering message
that is "a call to those who have fought through adversity and continue to rise above."

The song was first performed at Shibuya Club Asia during their one-man live concert on the release day. Fans in attendance were able to see its eye-catching choreography, which blends jazz-funk with voguing.
NANONI have also announced that they will be holding their first anniversary one-man live show, Genten, at Shibuya Cyclone on April 25th.
Inori Ema commented:
“The lyrics of Vainglory are my first attempt at writing a song. I wrote it with the intention of addressing the ideal version of myself. It’s about facing my own weaknesses and wanting to become a stronger woman. At times, feelings of inferiority,
jealousy, and negativity can overwhelm us. But I realized that if we can learn to love even these emotions, it’s a beautiful thing.
"Through this project, I believe I’ve broken out of my shell. I hope this song resonates with those who feel overwhelmed by their inner struggles or negative thoughts. I want them to know that it’s okay – take a moment to reflect, and love yourself
more. This is the message I wanted to convey through the lyrics.”
