SALU's first new solo song in about two years, "PICTURE PERFECT", featuring a guest appearance from Novel Core, is out on digital platforms worldwide now.
Rapper SALU released his first solo song in about two years on September 13th.
PICTURE PERFECT features a guest appearance from rapper Novel Core. It's described as an uptempo number with a sound that combines a lo-fi hip-hop base with a "city and techno feel." It's said to be an encouraging song where the two artists
describe their feelings about the journeys that brought them to where they are in their lives now and the troubles they've carried with them, and share the message that they will draw the rest of their lives (the "picture") the way they like so they can
continue on without regrets.
In a post on X, Novel Core shared that this collaboration was particularly meaningful to him as he made a remix of SALU's song RAP GAME back in 2019 during
a rough period in his life. He noted that the lyrics of SALU's
In My LIfe had resonated strongly with him and that his music was a comfort to him in the toughest of times, so his hands were shaking when he received the offer to feature on SALU's comeback single and saw the song's lyrics.
SALU references the opening line from In My Life at the end of PICTURE PERFECT, stating
"I don't know the future, but I can see the picture now."
